The Center for Multilateral Progress is an independent Paris-based nonprofit "Association Loi 1901" founded in 2007 to promote peace, justice and social progress. Today the CMP is dedicated to redefining human progress by helping forward peaceful, convivial and sustainable degrowth (+). We believe degrowth to offer credible alternatives to the undemocratic, socially and environmentally destructive forces that are (green) capitalism, globalization, productivism and consumerism. Our aim is to encourage multilateral dialogue and local action in the Mediterranean and Caribbean regions through educational, cultural and political initiatives.

Italy's il Manifesto newspaper needs your help

Join Eduardo Galeano, Tariq Ali, Victor Navasky, André Schiffrin and many more in supporting Italy's last remaining Left wing daily newspaper as it struggles to survive after the suspension of government subsidies. The suspension recently led to the closing of the only other anti-capitalist daily, LiberazioneIl Manifesto, the Italian partner of Le Monde diplomatique, is organized as a cooperative and is supported in part by a broad network of circoli, located all over Italy. The paper has been a key platform for the Italian Left over the last 40 years, showcasing a wide variety of perspectives that make up the Italian and international Left. It is an active supporter of social movements and a key promoter in the fight for the bene comuni or commons taking place in Italy and worldwide. Over the last few years we were particularly pleased to see the paper, through several of its writers, give voice to the degrowth movement. International solidarity is now more than ever needed as critical thinking--and specifically in the form of independent, printed newspapers--is ever marginalized in Europe and beyond. See related articles in Marcha, l'Humanité.
